築年数が経過した日本建築にお住まいのお客様からご依頼を頂きました。旧日本建築、昭和より以前に建てられた日本建築様式の建物では多くは色々な点で間取りが似ています。南向きにある玄関を入ると北側の家の出口まで土間があり右手には台所、左手には４間取りの和室、北西と東南には蔵があるなどです。
また玄関は天井が高く、天井裏には外側からも見える縦格子のある換気用の窓があります。
古民家が好きでお住まいにならている方は日本建築をできるだけそのままの状態で利用されている方が多く、この換気窓は通常格子以外遮るものが何もないので虫や鳥の侵入を防止するために網などを張ったりされています。
今回もそのようなご依頼でしたがせっかくなので使い勝手の良いものにするため内側に引き戸を新たに取付ました。夏は開けて風通しを良くし冬は閉めてしまうという使い方です。
